It’s that time of year… the time of year where Ohio is dark and gray and just blah. The twinkle of Christmas lights is gone, the shimmer of a new year has faded and I find myself waiting for springtime, sunshine and flowers.
In the past, I’ve been known to wish that I could hibernate this time of year away.
But instead of wishing my life away or falling into a seasonal depression, I’m making an effort to find the good and create opportunities for joy.
Valentine’s Day is as good of an excuse as any to add some festivity and cheer to my home. Why not embrace the love?
Here is a roundup of DIY Valentine’s home decor that I am loving.
These DIY Love Blocks by Stories By Me are an adorable way to celebrate your love or pay tribute to your favorite couples. I love the idea of using family wedding pictures.
Make a statement for pennies with this wall of paper hearts from How About Orange . It looks easy to create and it’s likely that you already have everything you need. To better match my home decor, I’m considering making the hearts in a creamy white.
How cute is this painted love sign by Landeelu? It looks pretty simple to make with a wooden round, spray paint, stencil and painter’s tape. I could see this ending up in my daughter’s room after Valentine’s day.
Mason jars are here to stay in the world of farmhouse chic decor. How completely gorgeous are these DIY painted and distressed jars by It All Started With Paint? I could see them on my mantle or farmhouse table in my dining room. I’m absolutely in love. And, if you’d rather skip the work, they are available for purchase in her Etsy store for less than $30.
Make use of those wine corks you’ve been collecting with this ombre cork heart by Green Wedding Shoes. Bonus points if you collect the corks during dates with your loved one. 🙂
